Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday called Mughal emperor Aurangzeb a villain. The Chief Minister said that instead everyone should remember the heroes of the country. Addressing a state-level function here on the occasion of 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the Chief Minister said that the true history of the country has not been told to the people despite getting independence seven decades ago. He made the supreme sacrifice while raising his voice against injustice and for religious freedom and humanity.

Manohar Lal said, “History tells how a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits went to meet Guru Tegh Bahadur ji to save him from forced conversion under the tyrannical ruler Aurangzeb. Describing Aurangzeb as a villain, he said that everyone should remember the heroes of the country and not the villains. The Chief Minister said, there are villains as well as heroes in the history of the country, but unfortunately historians have projected villains as heroes, while heroes have been forgotten.

On this occasion, Manohar Lal announced that the medical college being built at Panjupur village in Yamunanagar district would be named after the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, Tegh Bahadur. He said, the foundation stone of this medical college would be laid in the next three months. On this occasion, a grand stage was prepared for organizing ‘Prakash Parv’ of the ninth Sikh Guru at Sector 13-17 ground spread over 25 acres along the National Highway. . A large number of devotees from different parts of the country had reached here for this program.
