India’s teenage grandmasters Arjun Arigesi and R Praggnanandha are in second and fourth positions respectively after the 12th round of the opening leg of the Julius Baer Generation Cup online rapid chess tournament here. World champion Magnus Carlsen is on top with 25 points. Arigessi has one point less than him. China’s Kuang Li is third with 20 points. The 19-year-old Erigessi started the third day with a win over Ukrainian veteran Vasil Ivanchuk. He lost to Yann Christoph Duda.
