Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary on Tuesday said that the Indian Air Force has taken appropriate steps to deal with Chinese activities along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. In a press conference, he also said that the recent developments at the global level show the need for a strong army to meet any challenge.
Air Chief Marshal Chaudhry said the Indian Air Force is preparing for all kinds of security challenges, including “worst-case scenario”. He said that the Indian Air Force will keep a watch on all the activities of China along the LAC. Asked about the recent incidents of China flying fighter jets near the LAC, he said appropriate steps have been taken to ensure that tensions do not escalate and a message has been sent to the neighboring country. He said that the situation will be considered normal only when status quo is created in eastern Ladakh and troops are completely withdrawn from all the standoff points.
Not against consolidation of armies: Referring to the ‘Theatre Command’, the ambitious integration plan of the three services, Choudhary said, “We are not against the integration of the three services, our objections are only to certain formations.”
