The hurricane Agathe is already in Mexico: the National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported this Monday that the center of the phenomenon made landfall in the vicinity of La Redonda, municipality of San Pedro Pochutla, Oaxaca.
In the next few hours, the hurricane will cause punctual torrential rains in Oaxaca, while in eastern Guerrero, western Chiapas and Tabasco, and southern Veracruz, it will make its impact felt with intense punctual rainfall.
The SMN also forecasts heavy to very heavy rain for Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo.
Where will ‘Agatha’ move?
The agency explained that the hurricane will advance heading northeast. It is expected that in the early hours of Tuesday, it will weaken to a tropical storm and be located over eastern Oaxaca.
For the afternoon of Tuesday 31, the forecast is that Agathe it is only a remnant low pressure and that it is located 65 kilometers south-southeast of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz.
