Leftist movements will demonstrate in downtown Buenos Aires to demand decent wages and social assistance.
Just after watching the debut game of the Argentine National Team in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the left-wing organizations that make up the Piquetera Unit (UP) will march towards the headquarters of the ministries of Social development and of Worked to claim food assistance in community kitchens and tools for productive enterprises.
In a press conference that they offered last Thursday, leaders of the UP reported that this Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. they will march to the headquarters of the portfolio led by Victoria Toulouse Peace and then they will go to the ministry headed by Kelly Olmoslocated at 600 Leandro N. Alem avenue, where the Vital and Mobile Minimum Wage Council (SMVM) will meet.
“On Tuesday, first let’s watch the game and we are going to support Argentina, but we are also going to support decent wages, above inflation, because the minimum wage cannot be below the poverty line,” the leader of the Polo Obrero (PO) told the press. ) Edward Belliboni.
In that same conference last Thursday, the members of the UP published a letter titled “With hunger and without work, we say enough of the adjustment”, where they listed the claims of the sector, such as “lack of minimum assistance to soup kitchens, lack of of tools for entrepreneurship and restriction of food products”.
On the other hand, the piqueteros denounced “political operations” and “absolutely” ruled out that there are beneficiaries of social plans in the UP, who “pay large taxes and buy dollars.”
“Information has come out from the Government that is false and that has the objective of cutting social plans and continuing to push those who have less to adjust. The information that there would be enormously rich people, who pay for personal goods and buy dollars and that you would collect social plans , has a clear political intent,” they warned.
