PAlongside the Continental Free Trade Area, Africa must continue to deepen its economic relationship with Europe. If this reflection will be at the center of the European Union-African Union summit on 17 and 18 February this year, it is far from new. Three years ago, a symposium held in Brussels highlighted this central question around the theme “Africa-Europe: creating value and building a future together”. At a time when competition from China offers an alternative whose limits we gradually see as the level of indebtedness of certain African countries increases, while a strong geopolitical and geoeconomic opposition is emerging between the United States, China and Russia with a Europe that seeks to reposition itself…
