Afghan women’s football team played for the first time in Australia

Afghanistan’s women’s football team played its first match since leaving the Taliban-ruled country last year in a goalless draw. Melbourne Victory The Afghan women’s team played out a goalless draw in the Senior Women’s Championship in Victoria on Sunday. Last year, 30 players and coaches were evacuated from the country with the help of the Australian government after the Taliban took over Afghanistan. Now they are settled in Melbourne. Instead of Victoria’s traditional navy blue and white V, the team will wear Afghanistan’s red shirt in home matches and a white shirt in outside matches with the Afghan flag on its back.
