A technology competition for high school students is coming

A new edition of the Argentine Technology Competition (OATEC) arrives, an annual event designed to inspire scientific-technological vocations among high school students across the country. Registration is now open online and free of charge until August 31, through the competition’s official website: www.oatec.org.ar

The competition is organized by the Technological Institute of Buenos Aires (ITBA) and as a prize it offers scholarships to study at that university and computers.

Exploring the theme of “Technology in Agriculture”, the OATec will provide participants with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and cultivate skills to analyze, interpret and address situations linked to scientific-technological activities. In addition, the evaluation will cover general knowledge about this year’s theme, the handling of orders of magnitude, deductive logic and the ability to solve problems.

To participate, interested parties must be regular students in the educational establishment which students under 19 years of age attend and can register in the year of the competition.

The winners of the first three places will receive scholarships to study at ITBA of 100%, 75% and 50%, respectively, in addition to obtaining a computer for 1st place and 2nd and 3rd place a Tablet each. Likewise, the corresponding guidance teachers will receive diplomas and a tablet each.

“Our commitment to the development of the country and the region seeks to solve the main problems of humanity through technology. That is why the OATEC is a great opportunity to demonstrate the potential of those students who are distinguished by their talent, their commitment and their effort,” said the President of the OATEC, Dr. Jorge Ratto.

There is time to sign up until August 31.

In this edition, the jury The evaluator will be made up of prominent ITBA professionals, who will analyze aspects such as general knowledge related to the proposed topic, aptitude for planning and problem solving, manual skills, efficiency in the use of resources and expository capacity.

The members of this jury will be: Dr. Jorge Ratto, Dr. Laura De Angelis, Lic. Giuliana Espósito, Ing. Sofía Fraga and Lic. Susana Fattori.

At the ITBA, the Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Social Analytics, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Bioengineering, and Electronic, Industrial, Computer, Mechanical, Naval, Petroleum and Chemical Engineering are taught.
