72-year-old player’s courage, won 191 medals so far

If a man moves ahead with strong will power and high spirits, he can achieve any destination. And all this has been done by athlete Ramkishan Sharma of Badhda area. At the age of 65, Ramkishan Sharma went ahead with hard work by making sports a part of life and secured first position in the block level competition. After this, his courage kept increasing and during the last seven years, he has created a record by winning 191 medals in International, National and State competitions, which is an inspiration for every person. He has come to be known as the Medal Machine. Originally a resident of Bhandwa, 72-year-old player Ramkishan Sharma has been living in Badhda for the last 21 years. Ramkishan Sharma has achieved a special position by achieving immense success in a short span of just 7 years due to his excellent sports performance moving forward on the lines of film story. In October 2016, when the old man who went to see the block level rural sports competition organized at the government school in Badhda, heard the announcement of the race, he also made up his mind to participate in the race and secured the first position in the competition. Disabled international player Master Nandlal Arya, playing the role of judge in the competition, encouraged him and inspired him to play further. Ramkishan’s courage got wings after the success in the block level competition and the encouragement of Master Nandlal. This resulted in her winning the Haryana State Master Athletics Championship held at Devi Lal Stadium, Gurugram in December 2016. Ramkishan won three gold medals in this competition. After that, moving forward with high spirits, he did not look back. So far 191 medals have been won including three gold in the international competition held in Nepal. These include three gold medals in international competition, 93 gold, 20 silver and 5 bronze medals in national competition, and 70 gold medals in state competition.
