Army has killed five terrorists in an encounter in Jumkund area adjacent to LoC in Kupwara sector in Kashmir. According to sources, there are a large number of infiltrators in the area. Meanwhile, the search operation of the army is going on in the area. Confirming the foiling of the infiltration attempt along the LoC in Kupwara, Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir Range, Vijay Kumar said that the five slain terrorists are foreigners and may have links with Lashkar or Jaish-e-Mohammed. He said that after midnight, an army party patrolling the forward side of the LoC in Jamgund spotted a group of terrorists armed with automatic weapons coming towards the Indian side. At the same time alerting all the outposts and naka parties in the vicinity, he started monitoring the movement of the terrorists. As soon as the terrorists entered the Indian border, the jawans challenged them and asked them to surrender. On this the terrorists started firing on the jawans. Five terrorists were killed in retaliatory fire. The soldiers found their dead bodies in the morning.
