Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday announced that Punjab will be developed as a hub of medical education. Meeting after dedication of OPD Block and OT Complex at State Cancer Institute, Radiation Therapy Block, Senior Resident Hostel Block, Nursing Hostel Block, Boys Hostel and Auditorium at E-Hospital Project during the centenary celebrations of Government Medical College, Amritsar. Addressing the Chief Minister said that the state government has already made several efforts in this direction. He said that there is no shortage of funds for this purpose. Mann said that Punjab has many opportunities in this field and emphasis will be laid on ensuring the promotion of medical tourism in the state. The Chief Minister said that to provide civil services to the people at their homes, the State Government will start a new initiative from November 27 on the occasion of Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said that under this campaign, 40 to 42 services will be provided to the people in their homes without any hassle. Mann said that with this people will get great facilities and they will not have to bother in government offices for these services. The Chief Minister also announced that from January 26, 2024, all tehsil and district level hospitals of Punjab will be equipped with X-ray machines.
