The man who made headlines a year ago by setting up the country’s first green energy plant to generate electricity from crop residue, is now facing arrest. The main reason for this is that 4 of the five workers who were scorched in the fire at the Green Energy Plant three days ago died in AIIMS, Delhi. There is tremendous anger among the villagers over these deaths and have demanded the arrest of the plant operator. Police have registered a case against him. According to the information, five workers were badly scorched due to a sudden fire in the green energy plant set up by Rajpal and his partner of the village to generate electricity from stubble in Khurshid Nagar village of the district. He was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi for treatment. In the last 24 hours, one by one, four employees Narendra of Mumtazpur, Chhote, Keshav and Yogesh from Gujarat died during treatment at AIIMS in Delhi. At the same time, Sanjay Kumar of village Bhadangi in the district is still battling with life and death. After the post-mortem in Delhi, the three personnel from Gujarat were sent to their villages and Narendra of Mumtazpur was cremated in the village last night.
After this major accident, on Monday, Assistant Director of Labor Department Praful, Inspector BS Yadav, SDM Kosli Hoshiar Singh along with the police team reached the plant premises for investigation and videographed the entire premises. For four-five hours this team scrutinized the documents kept there. On the complaint of Naresh, father of the deceased Narendra, a case has been registered against the plant operator Rajpal at Nahar police post under sections related to death due to negligence.
Narendra’s uncle Dr. Sukhwinder told that 23-year-old Narendra was the only son of his parents. He has two daughters aged two and a half years and 10 months. Narendra was an ITI holder. Father Naresh does agriculture. Like a mountain of sorrow has broken on him. He was the sole bread earner in the household. He said all five workers were 100 per cent burnt in the fire. He told that 21-year-old Sanjay, who is under treatment, is also the only son of his parents and he also has two innocent daughters. His condition is quite critical As soon as this news reached here, the anger of the people broke out and last evening a large number of villagers gathered in front of the plant and they staged a dharna there. Former sarpanch of Mumtazpur Ramphool, Ramphal, former Panch Sher Singh, Vijayveer, Ramkishan Yadav, Jagmohan, Murarilal said that there was no management of fire safety in the plant.
In this company 22 employees work 12-12 hours in two shifts. The burning of the dead bodies had become such a condition that they were not even recognized. He said that since the accident, the operator has gone underground instead of meeting the families of the victims. He demanded that the evidence can be tampered with, so there should be a complete fair investigation in the matter and strict action should be taken against the accused.
Nahar police outpost in-charge Jagdish said that on the complaint of Naresh, father of the deceased Narendra, a case has been registered against the plant owner Rajpal for causing death due to negligence. The accused are absconding. The Labor Department is investigating the matter. further action will be taken accordingly
